Welcome to South Norfolk Radio! A new name and a new era dawned on Monday 30th August 2021 as we expanded our horizons and re-branded to South Norfolk Radio. Based in studios right in the town centre in Wymondham, a traditional rural market town in the County of Norfolk in the East of the United Kingdom, the not for profit South Norfolk Radio Community Interest Company (CIC) was originally established, as Radio Wymondham, in 2018, after some years of abortive attempts by others to provide a local radio service serving the needs of all members of the local community. The station moved to its new studio premises in Autumn 2022, and also embarked on another new stage of its journey in 2022. Originally broadcasting only on-line and on a range of radio streaming services, and available on computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and smart speakers, and on devices such as Alexa, South Norfolk Radio obtained its DAB license from OFCOM and was able to broadcast on the local DAB transmitter network on a trial basis during the summer of 2022, with plans for this to become a permanent feature as the finances of the entirely volunteer-run station allow.
